I have completed an M.Sc in Child Centred Play Therapy with the University of South Wales and have worked with a range of children including those who have experienced bereavement, loss, trauma, anxiety, anger, aggression, abuse, neglect and attachment difficulties.
The course is accredited by BAPT (British Association of Play Therapists).I am a full member of BAPT and I abide by their code of conduct.
Prior to this training I worked for 30 years as a teacher and headteacher in both primary and special schools, as well as working as a Local Authority consultant in Additional Educational Needs. During this time I gained significant experience of children with mild to severe social, emotional and behaviour difficulties as well as working with families in challenging circumstances. I now use the skills I gained in education to enable me to work holistically with children in therapy, involving parents/carers, teachers and other professionals where appropriate.
I have also completed a 4 day intensive Filial Therapy training and I am also able to offer this form of therapy to children, their families and, where appropriate, their school placements
